Phantom of the Opera

夜のドライブ。お台場からの帰り、私が買ったTahiti80の新しいCDと彼が買ったTHE POLICEのCDを聴きながら帰る。とても満たされた気分。

Today， we went to ODAIBA to see the movei， "The Phantom of the opera". It was a sad story. I can’t stop crying at the part of the ending which the phantom gave up his love.

だけど映像が綺麗だったし、音楽も迫力があって惹きつけられた。話される英語もとて上品。古い言い回しなのかしら？それともブリティッシュイングリッシュだから？

My darling said when we’re going out from the theater， "What made the dramatist write a tragic story like that?"

確かに・・・。道徳めいたハッピーエンドだけじゃなくて、悲劇が書かれる理由は何なのでしょうか？また、それが人々に感動を与えるのは何故なのでしょうか？
